The Ripon Grammar School test consists of two multiple-choice papers covering:

One paper covers a mixture of questions in Verbal Reasoning and English, this lasts 50 minutes
The other paper covers a mixture of questions in Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning, this lasts 50 minutes

Boys living within Ermysted’s Grammar School’s catchment area will be automatically entered into the Local Authority’s selection scheme, unless parents choose to withdraw their child from the process. Those living outside of the catchment can apply online via the Local Authority’s website.

There is no formal 11+ pass mark, as the scores are age-standardised to ensure fairness.
