Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School’s exam consists of two papers, each lasting around 60 minutes. The first test covers English and Maths. The second test assesses a child’s Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning

A written exercise is also given but is not marked. It is used by a panel of headteachers and is only used for borderline assessment cases

The Exam is organised by Kent Council Council and so you must register for the exam on the Kent Local Authority Website when your child is in Year 5. As a guideline, registration opened on the 1st June last year.

In the cases of oversubscription, priority will be given based on distance as described above with those closest being given higher priority. In the unlikely event that two or more children in all other ways have equal eligibility for the last available place at the school, the names will be issued a number and drawn randomly to decide which child should be given the place.
